I suspect that you are indeed related to the Shields in Brackettville!!

Have you ever attended the Homecoming Events that are held each fall in Brackettville? They usually hold this event at the cemetery there in mid September. In addition the cemetery is only a few miles from Ft. Clark where many of the Seminole Scouts lived and worked from 18870-1914. It is a fascinating place to visit.

If you wish I can contact some people that I know who have ties to the community there as I am sure that they would welcome a long lost cousin to have contact with again.
