Hello all

I was told by my father that my paternal grandmother Lucinda Averett Morton was part Choctaw. She was born in 1888 and at the time of my father's birth (1910) she was living in Richmond Virginia in a neighborhood called Church Hill. If anyone can advise me on how to confirm her Choctaw ancestry please let me know what steps I should follow. I'd very much appreciate any help you more experienced researchers can give.
