I'm not trying to start any mess; we've been through this discussion here before, so I will keep it short. DNA testing is a curious thing. Hypothetically, what would happen if the low blood Cherokee/white Indians had to DNA Test to prove (and retain their) tribal citizenship; coupled with having to use the FDR (with additional rolls) to prove that they had Indian/Cherokee blood ancestor but also notate the percentages of Euro-blood?

After reading David's post; and, Shoshone's response to David's post concerning low blood percentages of certain Cherokee trumpeters;
it occurred that it seems that people of color (black Indian descendants) seem to be the only ones seeking-testing to know how much Indian blood they have. Suppose it does become "official" that all who wished to enroll as tribal nation citizens, had to submit to blood testing!
Low bloods would be marrying high bloods, marrying thin bloods, marrying part bloods; just to keep the percentages up. In it all, the dance steps would be forgotten. Medicines lost. Stories have remembered. Pipes disjointed.
Similar to the old brown bag tests we read about occurring in particular Louisiana societies.
