FOLLIN/BOLTON/MATTINGLY/OTTERBACK

Hi everyone:

Found your message board while searching the Cherokee website. I grew up in Maryland and my Great-Grandfather, Thomas Edward Follin, was a slave on a plantation in Virginia. I was told it was the 'Follin Plantation' but I haven't really found out anything about it.

My Grandfather, Thomas Henry Follin and his brother, George, along with their father, Thomas Edward, were blacksmiths in Georgetown, D.C.

Thomas Edward was married to Mary Ann Mattingly. My Grandfather, Thomas Henry, was married to my Grandma, Bessie Ann Otterback. My Mom, was Florence Louise [Shoemaker] Follin.

I have a photo of my Great-Grandfather, taken in D.C. in the early 1930's. He is about 85 years of age. If anyone would like to see, I would be glad to show it to you.
