Phillis Morrison is found on the Dunn roll..her roll number was 1255...the Burke Act of 1906 required the roll of the freedmen to made from people found on the Dunn roll...it didn't mean they were any less Creek than those on the by blood roll...with all the racist accusations by members of the Creek committee of 18 accusing the three freedmen tribal towns of enrolling none Creeks or Black people from the states, the Dawes commission lobbied Congress for this language to make sure that the Creek freedmen received their proper share of the disposition of land in the Creek Nation....I said for years now, why ask other people to respect the freedmen when the freedmen descendants themselves dont see the pride in their history...stop shaming the freedmen records and documents...
