As usual the status of a person on the Dawes rolls is determined by the mother. Of course there are freedmen on the freedmen roll with a blood quantum (not mentioned) because of the mother being a slave.
Today citizenship is about being on the by blood roll but originally blood had nothing to do with the citizenship of the Creek freedmen, mixed blood or not. All Creek citizens got land.
In 1979, the Creek nation voted the freedmen out of their nation, without consulting the other party and nothing was done to see if the vote was legal.
