Re: Wilton Williams, Chickasaw Freedmen
In Response To: Wilton Williams, Chickasaw Freedmen ()
There seems to be a great injustice in this case, whether the rule is by the mother's bloodline or not. If you read close the Dawes Commissioner had some knowlege of this family, Sallie Mahardy Kimble, her father had tried numerously to be recognized as an Intermarried citizen by blood, Richard Kimble. The documents showed his wife to be Maulsey Mahardy, who had received money from the rolls as did her daughters, and he Richard Kimble and Sally only to be scribbled out by the Dawes. In Mr. Kimbles case its a know fact that Maulsey is 1/2 Chickasaw by blood, and her father a colored man. So in this case there was no Fair justice for Sallie Kimble Willams and her children. Angeline her sister were on the by Blood Roll, half sister Amanda Abram was on the by Blood Roll. Now why had Maulsey blood become tainted now in the case of her daughter,Sallie Kimble?.
