Re: Depleted Texas Lakes Expose Ghost Towns, Grave

Hi Ken,

Yes, Samuel Webber was an Cherokee Freedman. There were two around the time of the Dawes and they were both around 58 years old. There was a 3rd one and he was the grandson of my Samuel Webber and named after him, he died before his 4th birthday. Here is the info on my relative:

Born: 1843
Died: Oct. 1905
Father: Robert (aka) Robbin, (aka) Bob Webber (Slave Owner)
Mother: Betsy Webber (Slave)
Spouse: Judy (Julia) Webber "nee" McCoy
Dawes Cards: F269, F380, F1528

Please let me know of your findings!
