In Response To: Re: How do I find the exact slave ship? ()
Louisa's maiden name was not Huggins, it was King. I found a record of their marraige in the county archives. Not much information given, but it at least said that they were married on a given date. Louisa's grandfather (the father of William King Sr.) was listed in the 1870 Census as being born in Guinea. I have not been able to find his name, however. I have no clue as to where the King family migrated from. They were born in Kentucky except for the grandfather who was born in Guinea. I hit a brick wall on Adam Huggins because his death certificate didn't list his parents (the informant didn't know who they were). Now I have to somehow find a paternal descendant of the grandfather of Louisa King so I can do an ancestral DNA test to find the tribe.
