Denise,

The MS Dept. of Archives and History has slave data and records among its manuscrpit collections. Before any of the information in the collection can be copy, the archivist has to check for copyright restricitions. I've had only one denial - so far. The family member who donated her ancestors' personal papers requested the restricitions. I was allowed to obtain information by writing but could not use the copier. I was told that I could not publish the info in any form.
