Thank you for responding to my message. I'm trying to put some pieces together and any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. I don't have much information, but the Charles Lewis(SIMMS) connection is interesting.

I know that my family moved west with my father ultimately being born in Fayette County Texas. He was born in 1921 and lived to 1972. His father was in the military and farmed. He died while my father was quite young, so I'm quessing that his time period would have been around 1890 to 1929. I assume his father, Charles Simms, lived during the period 1865 to 1900. He too served time in the military.

Time periods and names seem to match, but I'm not sure of locations.
