Re: A Response from Ancestry Email

I decided to put this here for everyone to see.
Lisa sent me information for PL Calhoun she found. Along with that was an email address for the poster on Ancestry. I went back and found the emails of all who posted something about this person. As Of today I have received 2 responses. Can you believe it. One person said she only knew the basic information. But with my inquiry she is going to do more.
The 2nd and I hope and pray, has a uncle who knew of the new book by Ms Lucas, sent it to her so she could look into information about PL Calhoun. She has responded back and will look into any papers there might be available about his life. Maybe nothing more will be found, I believe it will. But the DOORS Are opening.
Ms Lucas' Labor of Love is opening up information not only for black people but white. AND I HEARD--she is going to be given a fantastic award for her efforts. I think she needs zillions of dollars too :). I personally think Ms Lucas is going to end up on TV and not to far off either.

I am toying with trying to do something of the sort for my people who lived in Aberdeen/Monroe,MS. I know, this will be an overwhelming job. But maybe if I start it, someone else will be able to add to it. EACH ONE TEACH ONE. I don't Live in Mississippi but I do have copies of paper estate records from a visit I made there to the Court House, For some of the 'white slaveholders', I thought might have been 'THE ONE'. I think we all should pull together and some way chart these Estate sells in a book for our community of interest. I have contacted my local Genealogy Library and they have ordered this book so it will be available in their collection. I suggest everyone do this. To go page by page can be time consumming. I have my own.
