Re: NEED HELP-SC--NAMES

Since I now know the old and new slaveholders surname, I thought it would be a snap to find a family grouping in order to move back on the time line. These initials put a big halt to this. Can someone help me find a family grouping for..
P L Calhoun or Calhoon bn about 1845 - I've looked through Ancestry and can not find him either married or with a first name in a family group. Everything in 1860 is initials.

Abr. Jones- I am assuming this is Abram or Abraham. Can't confirm either. Assuming he may have been born in the 1840's. Who and where did he come from?

Mrs. Mary Calhoun - who was you married to. Where did she live. What was her maiden name?

I have contacted the SC Archives in Colombia, SC to perhaps help me find a will of one of this people and the Inventory list that might give some information. ALL OF THESE NAMES WERE ON A 1863 BILL OF SALE LIST in Edgefield SC.

I am hoping to find out how my ancestor's ended up with the SURNAME OF VANCE.
