Just received my requested copies of information from the Univeristy of Texas today. I requested from box 2N214 (Family and Slave Records) for John W. Devereaux while in Alabama and Texas (Rusk and Montgomery Counties). I glanced through them and the family kept very good records on their slaves, listing the parens of each child, date of birth date of death, their marriage etc. Some of the information is in their handwriting. Will let you know what I find. I used the Devereaux Guide for the box of information that I needed.
