To the Forum,

My gggrandfather Anthony Clark was born in Virginia in 1815, and settle in Jefferson County Ohio. I have been trying to find other Clark's that was born in Virginia and settle in Ohio that might be related to him. I found two families in the 1870 census living in Belmont County in the township of Colerain Ohio, and two of them was born in Virginia, and I was hoping that they might be related to my Anthony Clark.
They were in the 1870 but I could not find them in 1860 or the 1880 census.
Here is that 1870 census listing maybe someone could help-

CLARK, COLE- head- male- black- age 60 born Virginia
----- SARAH- wife female- black- age 59 born in Virginia
------ OLIVER- son- male black- age 24- born in Ohio
------ PARTHA- daughter in law- female black age 20
------ IDA- grandaughter- female- black- age 3
------ CLARKSON- grandson- male- black age 1

Since there so Oliver Clark in 1846 in Ohio I assume they came to Ohio abt 1840 or earlier.

Here is the other family that I found in the 1870 census in Belmont County Ohio.

CLARK, JOHN B.-head-male- black age 30
------ MARY - wife - female- black- age 26
----- SARAH - daughter- female -black- age 1

I believe John B Clark is the son of Cole Clark.

If I can not find them in earlier or later census, how else can I find out if they are connected to my Clark's
I would appreciated any help.
