looking for a archibal ladd prior to 1870. i have researched my simon line and recorded this info onto my tree. beginning 1870 to 1940. today just browsing the census of 1870 i noticed edith simon, de soto county, ward 3 louisiana. she is living next to archibal ladd, white born 1805, north carolina ,with his wife annie and servant black martha millworth. my edith simon is from north carolina, and her two oldest children born in alabama. the servant living with archibal she was born in alabama, also. i think my family may have travelled with this archibal ladd.

tried to find this archibal ladd in 1860's and 1850's census not found. need help.

i am trying to go way back, if i can. i am wondering if this archibal ladd was a slave owner.
