Re: Tracing PRICE-STEPHENS Family
In Response To: Tracing PRICE-STEPHENS Family ()
Do you have any other dates related to the Stephens/Stevens connection, besides the approxomate date of birth for Rev. Stephens in 1820. He is born in VA, was he free or enslaved? Do you find William and Jan/Jane in VA on the census in VA. Although you say the son migrated to Rochester, NY, did the parents stay in VA? Selma 2. On my mothers side my Great Grandfather Rev. William Stephens(Stevens), was born in Lancaster Va about 1820. He married a Jane(Jan) Knapper of Va. Her father and Mother were both born in Va.Old stories have been handed down that he was ordained in Richmond Va. at the Concord Baptish(White) Church. One of his sons Jesse Eugene Stevens migrated to Rochester NY. and married a Mariah Mines of Va. One of their daughter Jennie Stevens married my father Charles Henry Price. I'm the off spring of that union. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
