O.K., Thanks. I have looked in the 1930, 1920, 1910, 1900, 1880, and 1870 census records. I would like to find the plantation that my great-great grandfather ROBERT BROOKS, born abt. 1833, lived on. Information has been passed down through the family that Robert was born in Perry County, AL and lived his entire live in Perry County, AL. The only census record that shows him is the 1880 census - no record before and no record after 1880 that I can find. In 1880, the family is shown living in Cunningham, Perry County, AL. I need help in understanding how to do the search. I have found names of relatives on one census and then not be able to find them again on any census. Example, on the 1900 census, my great great grandmother, SARAH BROOKS, born about 1835/1840 is shown as head of household. A son, YOUNG BROOKS, age 24 is living with her. I can not find YOUNG BROOKS on the 1910, 1920, or 1930 census. Any and all suggestions/help is greatly appreciated.
