I searched the 1900 Census to see if I could find a HUghes by any spelling, first name starting with J, born in LA, who might be your mystery man.

In Louisiana there were only two J. Hughes about the right age: James b. ca. 1897 and Jopp b. 1894. In Texas I found no one the right age, born in Louisiana, who could be Daisy's husband.

His name wasn't James. That leaves Jopp. I did say I thought the name looked like Jooper. This family was no longer in Bossier in 1910. I couldn't find them anywhere that year. They weren't there in 1920, either.

Ancestry has an all name index for 1930. I searhced for Daisy Hughes/Hughs b. ca. 1892. I couldn't find a Daisy/Daisie Hughs anywhere. Is it possible that she married another time?
