My ADAMS BRINSON CORKER Brick Walls

I have been trying to find information on the following individuals [what I know about them so far is presented here]:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maggie Brinson, married Lewis Kelsey

1920 Federal Census: Maggie Kelsey listed as 49 years of age, living on Sylvania Road in the City of Millen, Jenkins County, Georgia [District 115, Militia District 1635].

Maggie was born about 1871 in Georgia. No further information has been found. Questions are where in Georgia was she born, who were her parents, where did she die and when?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coleman Adams, married Violet [surname unknown]

Coleman Adams was born in Virginia about 1813. He married Violet, who was born in Georgia [locality unknown] about 1821. Their children may have included: Jessie, male, born about 1848; Benjamin, male, born about 1850; Louisa, female, born about 1857.

On the 1880 Federal Census, the families of Coleman, Benjamin, and Jessie were interviewed in succession, which indicates they lived adjacent to each other. They all lived on a farm in Screven County, Georgia [this location eventually became part of Millen, Jenkins County, Georgia].

Coleman died October 10, 1894.

While circumstances strongly suggest that Coleman was the father of my great grandfather, Benjamin Adams, I can find no documented sources to this effect.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lester Corker

On the 1910 Federal Census, Lester Corker [48, born about 1862] is a divorced head of household living in Scarboro, Jenkins County, Georgia [District 1638, Enumeration District 110] with his children: Etha Corker [18]; Gertrude Corker [17]; Lester Corker [15]; Rubie Corker [14]; Gordon Corker [12]; and Carneta Corker [11].

Information from the Ord Off. of Screven County, dated 11-5-1894 indicates that Lester Corker married Louisa Adams, and that Louisa Adams Corker and her mother Violet Adams inherited the property of Coleman Adams when he died in 1894.

I am trying to find further information on Lester Corker. So far, I have found a Lester Corker on three census records, but cannot be sure if they are one and the same person.

I may have more brick walls to discuss later.

Thanks for listening. Spivey
