Re: Lattimore Tate of Rowan County,N.C. ?

Regina, thanks for the response. This is how I am putting this.Lets do it this way. Recently my cousin Ruth Elaine Bates died (October 12, 2006) It stated that she was preceded in death by parents Ophelia Tate who died in 1995 and her father Lattimore Tate, death unknown. By the way Elaine died in Asbury Park, NJ. She was born in Gold Hill,N.C. In the 1930 census of Rowan County, N.C. Morgan Township, John Crowell is the head of the family; and beneath him his wife Emma age 40; daughter Ophelia 20, daughter Verna, son Howard, daughter Ruth. However I believe this to be somewhat in a awkward situation, beause Verna, Howard, and Elaine were the children of Ophelia. In the 1920 there is listed a John Crowell, married to Emma Horton, and his stepdaughter Ophelia Horton, age about 10. This is John's second wife. Emma was married before as well. Now there is the Lattimore Tate issue that I am concerned about as well. As stated he died in December 1929, but no one knows anything else after that. Please, Regina, if you can come up with something, please let me know. Thanks. Joseph
