I've haven't been ignoring you. I've been trying to think of a strategy and have come up blank. Until you know more about your own ancestors it would be very difficult to tie their descendants to other families in NC. Unless you could find a descedant of that family and try a DNA test. I know my Lovelace cousins have been compiling a sort of Lovelace DNA databank to discover how all of the various Lovelace line in America are connected. This would be far from an easy (or cheap) undertaking however. I would hold onto the information you've found and see if later on (when you know more about your direct line) you can find a connection.
