I found them in 1870 in Mecklenburg County Va (VIRGINIA) living with Scott Cannon>>

Cannon, Scott 55 born NC
Cannon, Harriet 35 born NC
Cannon, Lucy J. age 12 born Va
Cannon, Esau J. age 9 born Va

This is interesting because they are listed as the son and daughter in law of Scott in 1880. Unless you have the marriage record of Lucy and Esau, you may consider that they may have been sister and brother. The fact that they are living with Scott in 1870 at a young age would seem odd that they would grow up and marry each other. Just my thoughts.
