Re: Toler/Pittsylvania County
In Response To: Re: Toler/Pittsylvania County ()

That's what so confusing!...It's a different Booker. I'm thinking of the same-name pattern.
Found that Booker and Fannie lost 4 children, James in 1885 and 3 all on the same day in 1876, Mary, Reed, Wade. And Fanie died in 1855.
John and Bettie married in 1878 and listed in the 1880 census with William.
John and Bettie Toler has children, William, Douglas, Hezekiah (my grandfather) Clarence, John F, Herman, Waverly. In the 1900 census, Bettie states that she has 10 children with 8 living.
John Booker Toler is sometimes found as John in the other census, he died in 1887. Bettie, his wife and my greatgrandmother had other children. Bettie remarried to a man with the last name of Anderson and took care of Hezekiah's daughter by his first wife (1910) he was married to my grandmother by then. William married and had about 5 sons, one was the grandfather to my cousin Lynn Toler of Divorce Court.
I do think that there may be a connection with this Booker and mine...perhaps a cousin? Can't find any more records to prove or disapprove this theory!
My other brickwall is John Booker's father, Granville, found several all in the same area! Could be an uncle and son named after my gggrandfather. These are my brickwalls that I've finally decided to climb over.
