I have searched for several years and turned up nothing. Just last week I searched the South Carolina Archives and found the 1860 Roll Of Citizen and found Watson Pleasant listed he was residing in Barnwell, South Carolina.

So they were free in 1860? I am not familiar with the document you cite. That may be the beginning of the finder path. Also wondering if Watson had an earlier marriage? Noting him as 12 years older and their first child born 1862.

Can we find others on that list you cite in the 1870 census?

Since he and his mother are born VA does that provide 1860 clues?
