I am happy to learn that you have an interest in your family history. I met your grandfather a few years ago when we met to talk about the Barge family's history. I was born in Norfolk, but never lived there long.

Your grandfather, Judge Barge, and my grandfather, John Barge, were mistaken for each other for many years, as they looked alike- had the same complexion, same kind of hair and almost the same height and size, and many people thought that our families were related.

I will have to search through my records and put them together, but you have an aunt, Peacolia Barge who lives in Alabama who has spent many years researching your family history. She has done more research on your family than I have done, and she has visited many of the places where the Alabama Barges lived.
