Your Ida is actually in the 1920 census as Ida Obere, daughter(?) of Scott Brooks. They are living in Gibson, LA.

Scott and Maria Brooks are in Terrebonne parish (Ward 8 ) in 1910 - both born in Louisiana. They are still in Ward 8 in 1900, with two children, indexed as 'boarders'. Interestingly, one is an 'Ida Taphett'? I am not familiar with the surname. Could it also be spelled Taplin?

In 1910, the same two children are living in the household of Dove T. and Sallie Taplett. Ida is listed as a daughter. Sallie reported she had no living children and they were married 7 years. This appears to be his second wife.
Birth, Death, and Marriage records could help clear up the relationships.

TGS, the local genealogical society, published vital records for that part of South Louisiana. If the Auberts were Roman Catholic, you may also be able to find birth records in the Father Hebert series on South Louisiana (check most major libraries for both sets).

So is Scott and Dave the same person, and did Maria pass on before the 1910 census, or were they divorced? Thanks in advance.
