Re: Cowans of South Carolina
In Response To: Re: Cowans of South Carolina ()
Well the three of us(mom, sister and me) had a good ole time last nite discussing the Cowans and Pringles - thanks again Celestina! I'm looking for a job, so I can't subscribe to any of the data bases now :-( Lots of time, no cash! Is there any other info on Lesan Cowan? That name is a new one. My mom doesn't know who he or she is. We also don't know if Cornelius G. Cowan is related to the other Cowans, but he doesn't seem to be. It was so interesting, squinting at bits of paper with scraps of info and old letters from my mother's cousin Lucia Cowan(another one, and yes my mom is a Lucia too, and two first cousins!),trying to decide who is who. Then we had a little teeny discussion on who would keep the all the bits together-lol! Well I've got all the info in Microsoft Word on a CD and a floppy so it had better be safe!!! Joy PS - Samuel Pringle Sr. was a "jackleg" preacher according to family legend. He traveled extensively and was supposedly killed by two teenagers and the body never found. That may be why Alice E. Pringle is listed as a widow in 1910 and then living with her husband in 1920.
