Hello Cynthia, The Franklin Co., OH Genealogy Society has a very active African American Special Interest Group that would be of great help to you in planning your research trip to Columbus, Ohio. Here is a link to their page on the Franklin Co., Genealogy Society's website.
If you like, I can forward your message to a cousin of mine that is a member of the Franklin Co. AAIG. Let me know if this is of any help to you. Best Wishes,
When I am in a state and have some days to hang out, I try to find something to do that includes hanging out with my peeps that is safe. Now the Library is first on my list. I figure no self respecting theif wants to be seen hanging out doing genealogy, could be wrong. And then I want to go eat where my peeps know I like my food cooked, not with a lot of grease mind you, but some greens, corn bread, sweet potatoe pies and cobblers, and then buy black. So where in Columbus Ohio is the place to go around and what are the best months to do it in. Just need to know. I want to take a tour group of seniors and we want to hang out for a bit. We all do family research, but none of us are actively researching this particular state. We decided to throw a state in a hat and let the youngest senior pull a state and city name out each year. So Columbus Ohio is the place for 2013. We will will decide when according to what my Afrigeneas Angels tell us. Messages In This Thread
