Thanks for the information and link to the will which I have had bookmarked for some time. I am still not able to connect with the Gees Bend Pettways. My assumption is that Mark Pettway, who is originally from NC may in fact be a link, I just have not been able to make that connection. I have spent many hours reading the Hawkins paper at UNC, but no clues yet. I am still searching for a Petteway/Hawkins sale. If anyone has any other suggestions I would appreciate it. BTW, my maternal line is Gee, also from NC as well. Thanks again.
