Re: Calling all AfriGeneas Authors and Artists

Thanks for the wonderful response! If you haven't yet sent us your books, articles, bibliographies, periodicals, chapbooks or other publications, please do.

While our focus is on African American genealogy and history we're not limiting our list of authors and artists to those categories. If you're a musician let us know. If you're a visual artist let us know. If you're a performing artist, let us know that too. Tell us about your recordings, art, handicrafts, plays, films, exhibits, and performances. So far we know of some poets, playwrights and a choreographer. But we suspect that there are more talented painters, sculptors, illustrators, photographers, jewelry makers, quilters, artisans, singers, actors, filmakers, spoken word artists, etc. among us. So, if you fit the bill, please let us know!

The only criteria are that you must be a member of the AfriGeneas family and your work must be or must have been accessible by others. So if you've been published or your work is being or has been exhibited or performed or it's in a school, museum, library or other archive, please send us the details. Online publications and exhibitions certainly qualify. But not your personal or research websites or blogs (we have a list of links for those) unless they're companion sites to your other work or they're stand-alone publications (like Free African-Americans, http://www.freeafricanamericans.com/) or virtual exhibits (like Small Towns, Black Lives, http://www.blacktowns.org/).

If in doubt, drop us a line with your questions. Thanks.
