There were indeed Redmans from Hardy Co., VA who went to Ohio; some went directly to Ohio, others went to Pennsylvania first, then into Ohio. This is also true of several other Hardy Co. fpc families: Lett, Smith, Clifford, Bruce, etc. Goings is another name I see in Hardy Co., but I have not yet traced this family's migrations.

Three Redman men and their families first appear in the personal property tax lists of Hardy Co. between 1801 and 1806 - John, Richard and Aaron Redman. John and Richard were Rev War servicemen who filed successful pension applications while they were living in Hardy Co. All three of these men died in Hardy Co. and left many descendents who stayed in the area, and some who left for PA and OH and places further west in VA/WV.
