Re: A chapter of family history

Wanda, Keep reaching for straws! I started my
search for confirmation of a family oral history story about Grandma Reno....see link... https://www.afrigeneas.com/library/reno.html
This was written in 1999, since then I've been able to obtain other documents which solidify the story. And I have made connections with other families who are descendants of those captured at Martin's Station, including some proven LaForce descendants at the annual Ruddle's Fort & Martin's Station Historical Assoction (RAMSHA) "Gathering" held in Kentucky.

Additionally, DNA testing has stated that I have distant cousins who descend from the family of Rene LaForce, suggesting there may have been a deeper relationship between the LaForce's and their slaves.

Another interesting Hannah (LaForce) Fisher connection was written by Roberta Estes, a respected DNA researcher and genealogist. see link...

Good Luck & keep in touch,
