The Black Writers Reunion & Conference (BWRC) invites proposals for workshops
to be presented at the 2008 BWRC. BWRC '08 will be held in Tampa, Florida,
July 19-21, 2008, with workshops being presented July 20-21.
BWRC '08 provides speakers and participants with an opportunity to focus
intensively on specific writing topics. Often writers' conferences concentrate
solely on the craft and business of writing books for publication. We welcome
proposals on any topic of interest to the writing community, but we particularly
encourage proposals on writing careers and writing-related businesses that
introduce participants to the diverse opportunities available to them beyond
creative writing as professional writers and writing service providers in
addition to creative writing and publishing.
Workshop proposals should provide sufficient information to allow evaluation
of the quality and relevance of the topic. Proposals should be no more than
two pages and contain the following information:
- A title and brief description of the workshop topic.
- Bio highlighting speaker's qualifications to present a workshop on the
- Equipment needs, such as audiovisual or other equipment.
- Speaker's name, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number, and
