So they packed up their wagons and went 5 miles west, staked a claim and called it Dodge City. Speaking of Dodge City, supposedly the first person killed there was a Black gambler. However, there are two versions to this story - He was shot by another gambler. - He got caught in a crossfire during a shootout between two outlaws. Not sure if any of this is true.
