Underground Railroad map guide to be launched in Spring 2006

The Resources Development Team has been hard at work on a new heritage product which will be launched on March 10, 2006, Harriet Tubman Day. The new product is an Underground Railroad map-guide that on one side will showcase a collection of approximately three dozen authentic Underground Railroad sites, programs and facilities associated with freedom seekers and their flight to freedom. The other side of the map-guide will interpret Maryland as a border state to freedom. The interconnections between the people and communities across the land and waterscapes of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries played a unique role in the quest for freedom.
