Bennie, Thank You! Thank You! for this furum. I live Upstate New York near Canada(1 Hour cross over). A lot of homes here in New York State are said to have been cross over homes leading to Canada. There is a lot of history here to be investigated. In fact when my hubby and I moved to this area, one of the homes we looked at had a secret hidden room that could house at least ten people. All the homes in the village I live in was built in early 1800's in fact my home was built in 1870. We are on the historical Society Listing because the whole village is in tact. Back in 1994 I had the pleasure of meeting Harriet Tugman's GGGrandniece. At that time I was the Black History Coordinator at Fort Drum, home of the 10th Mountain Division soldiers.
I was instrumental on getting her to speak at our Black History Event.
The lady in question lives in Syracuse, New York. Her Aunt's home is in Central New York on display. Since I am wheelchair bound, I am unable to go upstairs to the other side of my home to get pictures. I will have someone(hubby) to pull down pictures and evidence to share with your on line follow historians. May God Bless you in your endeavors
