We all cringe at that movie - "A Woman Called Moses" - it has caused more damage to our contemporary understanding of Tubman than anything (except the book it was based on which was just as bad.) It is filled with fictional characters and situations that the author and director treat as fact. While Ciciely Tyson is an exceptional actress, the script she was given defined what she could do, I imagine. That film, and book, are the worst example of exploitation and corruption of history. I hope that Angela Bassett, who is scheduled to produce a movie about Tubman sometime soon, will do a much better job. The truth is far better than any fiction! Happy Thanksgiving! Kate
