Thanks for the support guys. Let me make a sad story worse. I never had any backup for the myriad records I have in my PAF files. This past holiday, my daughter visited from Georgia and burned a disk with my 'genealogy' files on it, as well as made a copy of my 'genealogy files' on a flash drive.

SOB. She only backed up files I had labeled 'genealogy files' so none of my PAF information was backed up. PAF is a program file, and she only went into my personal files to do her backups.

Moreover, the deletion did not go into my trash bin. Still hurting, but getting better. Now, I really need to learn how to burn a disk and use the flash drive. I had both capabilities, but never used them. Shame on me.

P.S. A 1 gig flash drive was on sale at Staples for about $20 a few months ago. I ordered mine online because my local Staples wanted $70. They still may be on sale if anyone is interested in buying this type of backup device. However, I caution you that you have to use it for it to work.
