I think what you're saying underscores my point. It's very much of an individual experience with these services because:

1. The service does not have coverage for all geographies to the same extent.

2. The surnames being researched can make a big difference. The combination of a common given and common surname can make searching difficult. Also surnames that are common words such as "Means", can make searching difficult.

That's is why I always say that I cannot answer the original poster's question because of the reasons I cited, you just have to individually check out the service thru "free trials" or local libraries before making any financial commitment.

I think we can agree that it's not a service for everyone but some may find good information related to their genealogy research.
