Publishing 'Cohen of Georgetown, SC 1760-1960"

I'm employed as a Database Analyst (part-time contractor) at EPA in Washington, DC and was born in Harlem, New York in 1952. I've written, researched and compiled the non-fictional narrative based on Fannie Green and her life as a "Secret Jew", the ritual traditions she practiced, and taught to seven children, and family stories she recited “over and over again” in “geechee” southern dialect which linguists trace to West African oral traditions resembling the trade language of “Kissi” peoples of Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia. The stories "Ma" (our mother) told always took place in Georgetown, South Carolina and were recited “by rote", at our kitchen table in East Harlem, New York in the mid 1950's.

The arduous work of writing and completing the four-year novel in May of 2010 was accomplished using thirty years of Southern genealogy experience and historical
research; including six months editing the final manuscript, and two more months of "my Author's corrections" completed this month. After the work has been properly "thinned", and the Editor has made final Editorial comments in the next months, and final edits are made in the text of the manuscript, and the pictures and maps are inserted, he will give the okay, and the work will be published, hopefully before this May which will be the 5th year.
