My mother's aunt was Ida Melissa Patterson, wife of Thomas and mother of Magdalene, William, Braxton and Elizabeth. That family except for Magadalene and William moved to California in the late 60's or early 70's.

Magdalene died of cancer before they left Buffalo. I never knew William. So, he must have died when I was very young.

Aunt Melissa and Uncle Tom died in Los Angeles, California, and their names are in the California Death Index.

I have not kept in touch with that side of the family. However, Magdalene was married to a minister, James Dockery. He was a United Church of God bishop here in Buffalo and founded a community center not far from my house. Although Bishop Dockery is now deceased, I believe one of his sons now runs the center.
