I don't know if anyone is aware of this little tidbit. Ancestry.com, for Shelby Co., will give a copy of the ORIGINAL death certificates of ancestors, you search for. Go to Tom Leatherwood, Shelby Co. Tn--Archives,Online, to get the same death certificate, BUT the same information is typed. It really helps, because some of that writing is really bad. There is other information you can search for, marriages, deaths, etc. ONLINE on this page.
I had done searches for a really common name for my ancestors. After I used the actual dates on the death certificate, within 1 year perimeters, everything popped up and even more for family members, I had been searching for.
It may be simple searching for some, but for me, every short cut I can get a tip on, helps the cause.
