Sometimes people mistake
AK for Alaska and Arkansas. Ak is correct.
Ar for Arkansas AND not Ariz.

As a retired employee from the postal service, once upon a time all mail was hand sorted. Not anymore. Machinery is what does it. Incorrect abbreviations can delay a piece of mail for 1 month before it MIGHT go correctly IF the zip code is correct.

I strongly suggest to everyone, check with the mail service for correct abbreviations and zip codes. Telephone books have them. It would be better for Arkansas--- abbreviated as Ark.
Can't go wrong there. If you don't know a correct zip code. DON'T make up one. Just leave it blank. It will still be delayed, but it's better than it ending up in Europe or some place else in a foreign country. Other countries have zip codes, with a alphabet letter.
Although the forum may have Ar. it still can be confusion to some.
