Duncan Slater SR bn 1910 was married to Ida May Vance born 1907.
They had the following children..Maryland bn 1924 Asheville

I have not did any further research on the Slater surname because I have been more interested in researching the women of the VANCE name and the direct line descendants.
My Vance started in Johnston SC, branched to Fulton, Ga, and on to North Carolina names in North Carolina. Duncan Slater SR died 6 June 1962 in Asheville.
Ida May was the daughter of Jim/James and Ida Vance. Ida May was named after her mother. I was wondering could these names be connected. Virginia is that far from North Carolina.
