November 29, 1907 2 brothers -Thomas and J.B. Graham-Naval Store Operators in South Alabama-were found guilty in Pensacola Florida of holding negro Jim McCantis in Peonage. Ther brotehrs were charged with following McCantis back to Mays Turpentine camp in Florida and taking him away to Alabama after a pitched battle with revolvers .
