I am so sorry that it took me this long to see this posting. My mother-in-law was born and rasied in Charles Co. Her family was Eugene and Eliza Thomas, Eugene owned 100 acrea of land in Newbery in 1892. I have pictures of that family and they are over 100 years old. My mother in law has a sister that on 8/16/09 will be 104 and her mind is still very sharp. Of this family is a person named Elizabeth Thomas Shade, I believe she is still alive in Charles County. What I would like to know is? who were some of the slave owners of charles county. Eugene was born abt 1844 and died 1930 he is in the Holy Ghost Cemetery and so is some of the other family
