Thanks so much for responding. Covington is not far from the area that I research, Lewisburg, WV. However, I don't seem to have any of your names in Greenbrier, Monroe, Summers, or Pocahontas. I will check again, however, and get back with you. A distant relative of mine, and another man, (both Black) founded the Eagle Coal Company in Fayette. My greatgreatgrandmother was from there, Martha Payne. Have you ever seen the book about Blacks in Fayette County? If not, I'll try to find the name and post it here.
