I am willing to put money on that the E.J. Brevard probably stands for Ephraim or Edward Brevard. Ephraim is a very prominent name in the Brevard family used by a lot of the Brevard brothers and cousins. Adeline probably came from one of the wateree township plantations belonging to the brevards. If you can give me some reference of the years she may have come from SC, I can contact my cousin Gloria to see if there is any mention of her. I will have to look back in my records to see if E.J. was Alfred or Joseph's son both of whom I know were still residing in the Camden/Lugoff, SC area. A lot the Brevards were still living in the NC area as well. I've always wondered how the Brevards made their way to Texas.
