Hello All,
This is a follow-up to my posting on 9 March 2008 about the Ohio Death Certificates on the site mentioned below. These are Ohio DC's from 1908-1953....viewable & printable.
1. Registration no longer required.
2. Search capabilities are GREATLY enhanced.
I recently found the DC for a sister of my great grandmother that I never knew existed. Using the "More" option I searched on the father's last name (Bridge(s) and mother's maiden name (Brooks)..nothing else. Three of my hits were Elizabeth Wise(1845-1912), Emma Adams (1853-1931) & Kathryn Woodson (1862-1930). Wise, Adams & Woodson being their married names.
As a note...these DC's proved the point of inconsistent information and the need for multiple records in verifying your family information. The father is listed as Anderson Bridger, Anderson Bridges & Cupid Bridges. Emma's husband is listed as Izar S. Adams rather than his name Isaac L. Adams.
Also the range in birth years from 1845 to 1862 (17 years)suggests a somewhat "stable" relationship between Anderson & Minerva even during their period of enslavement.
This website is constantly upgrading both Features and Data so perioidly view their Home Page for updates in your areas of interest.
Happy Hunting,
Art Thomas
